The Chorus Seeks an Artistic Director

The Central PA Womyn's Chorus, a lesbian and feminist chorus in Harrisburg, PA, is looking for an energetic, enthusiastic Artistic Director versed in a wide variety of musical styles, who will encourage musical excellence and membership growth.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in music, 1 year experience directing, ability to create an atmosphere of mutual respect and enjoyment, and availability for Monday night rehearsals. Compensation will be discussed at interview.

The CPWC Artistic Director provides overall artistic leadership and direction to the chorus, sectional leaders, and accompanist(s), conducts rehearsal each Monday evening in season, conducts scheduled performances, plans concert themes at least one year in advance in collaboration with the grant writing committee, leads the music selection committee in selection of repertoire to support planned concerts, and presents monthly reports to the board of directors regarding the status of the artistic programs and projects.
