I sing with the chorus because I like the large variety of music we sing, from classical to folk to jazz and from different ethnic groups and time periods.  It is important to me that we perform lots of music by women, so we are singing thoughts and emotions that we can really understand, or that will help us understand women whose lives are different from ours.
